Built-In Outdoor Kitchen or Prefab Pod?

Compare the full scope before comparing a quote.

Define the same kitchen

Set out the footprint, cooking appliances, extraction, refrigeration, sink, cabinetry and finish for both options. Add lighting and entertainment where required. A like-for-like equipment schedule makes the comparison useful.

Separate product and site work

A pre-assembled pod combines the kitchen elements before arrival. A built-in design may distribute that work across several trades. Both approaches still need the right support, utility connections, ventilation and access arrangements for the property.

Check what each proposal includes

Ask each supplier to identify product supply, transport, unloading, lifting, positioning, base preparation, service connections, commissioning, packaging removal and applicable taxes. Record exclusions and responsibility for each item.

Build a project programme

Ask for the current production, transport and installation plan once the specification is agreed. Access restrictions, site readiness and available trades can affect the sequence. Do not assume a standard installation duration.

Make the decision for your home

A pod may suit a project seeking one coordinated kitchen package; a built-in layout may suit a site requiring a unique footprint. Compare the final design, access plan, serviceability and written terms as well as the quoted scope.
